iWant an Ebook Reader

I think I have mentioned this a million times already… I’m broke! But it never stops me from wanting to buy loads of stuff. And the latest item on the list is an ebook reader.

I don’t have a “real” ebook reader (and I want one!). Either I use my old phone or my other gadgets in reading ebooks, which is ok until I found out that the grade of my eyes shoot up again. I know that buying an ebook reader will not correct my eyesight problem but I live in the hope that reading the text in black and white and a-not-so-luminous screen will, at least, reduce further damage.

There are tons of ebook readers out in the market (unfortunately, there are only a few available here in the Philippines) with impressive features like 3G and WiFi connectivity. But what I’m looking for in an ebook reader is probably the most basic. Grayscale screen is most preferable and I won’t settle for more. It has to be light weight and not bulky. Lastly, it has to be cheap.

I’m eyeing this Sony Ebook Reader. I saw one being sold in the Multiply Market. I can’t say that it’s cheap (because Sony doesn’t sell cheap products) but it has the features that I’m looking for. Lastly, it’s PINK!

The Amazon Kindle is also a good choice. Or should I say a smart choice? It does not only possesses the features that I so want, but it’s also cheap. Maybe not cheap, but at least a few thousands cheaper than the Sony Ebook Reader. The only downside is, it’s out of stock.

I’m trying to save. In fact, I haven’t gone out nor made unnecessary purchase for weeks. And I guess I’ll continue saving because I’m also eyeing the iPad 3 to be launched this March.
